Pushkar Location :
Pushkar is a small but beautiful town in Indian state of Rajasthan. It lies in a valley situated at about 14 km North West from the town of Ajmer. It is a town within Ajmer District, Rajasthan.
It is majestically nestled between three small hills and sand dunes. It is sited at the latitude of 26.5° North and the longitude of 74.55° East. It has the average elevation of about 500 meters (1673 feet) above see level.
Pushkar Climate :
Pushkar is situated in close proximity of Great Indian Desert – Thar Desert. Due to this region the climate of Pushkar is dry and arid especially in summer. It is surprising that like other towns and cities of Rajasthan Pushkar is not so much dry and arid.
Pushkar also enjoys prolonged rainy season which makes the climate of Pushkar city very humid. In winter, Pushkar enjoys cool and cheerful climate. Winter is very ideal time to visit Pushkar and explore its major attractions.

Pushkar - A Pilgrimage Centre :
Pushkar is a one of the ancient & most sacred cities of India. It is acclaimed for it religious and spiritual importance. It is the sacred pilgrimage centre for Hindus. This small town is so sacred that no flesh, eggs, fish and alcohol are allowed within the city. Pushkar means born due to a Flower.
According to Hindus faith, gods releases a swan with a lotus in its beak (mouth) and let it fall on the earth where the Lord Brahma would perform a grand Yagna. Lord Brahma performed penance here for 60,000 years to have glimpse of Radha Krishna. The place where the flower of lotus fell was called Pushkar.
Due to its immense holiness, sanctity and purity, the city is often called “Tirth Raj – the King of Hindus Pilgrimage Sites” by Hindus. Pushkar is the site Lord Brahma Temple, Savitri Temple, holy lake – Pushkar Lake and 52 sacred ghats. With religious & spiritual significance, several attractions and excellent accommodation facilities Pushkar has been also a popular destination of foreign tourists.

By Bus: Pushkar is 14 km from main Ajmer Bus Stand. Deluxe buses connect Pushkar from Jaipur. Roads are very goods and it takes around 3 hours from Jaipur, the Pink City of India.
By Train: The nearest Railway Station for Pushkar is Ajmer. Ajmer is well-connected with daily trains from Delhi in morning.
