Pushkar Camel Fair or Pushkar Cattle Fair is celebrated annually in the month of November at the time of Kartik Purnima Full Moon. The fair attracts about 200,000 people, 25000 cattle including camels, elephants, horses and other. It is one of the biggest livestock fairs & festivals in India. Buyer and sellers from all over India come during Pushkar Mela to negotiate deals over prized animals.
During this fair foreign tourists also visit Pushkar. The fair offers visitors lively show of rich culture and tradition of Rajasthan. During this festivals horse races, camel races, elephant races, performing arts and cultural shows programs are organized to entertain and attract tourists and travellers from all over the world. Pushkar Mela also provides opportunity for shopping and watching exquisite handicrafts like pottery, bangles, embroidered shoes made of camel leather, etc.
