Located near the city of Aurangabad in the Indian state of Maharashtra, Ajanta and Ellora caves are the ancient treasure of Indian architectural heritage. They are globally famous for the caves shrines that are constructed cut out of rocks by hand. They are finest example of Indian rock-cut architecture. Ajanta boasts 29 monumental caves and Ellora boast 34 monumental caves. Both Ajanta and Ellora caves are listed as UNESCO World Heritage Site and sheer outstanding specimens of Indian architectural and cultural excellence.

Ajanta caves lie in scenic and rocky horseshoe -shaped valley with 29 monumental caves. The archaeological site of Ellora boats 34 monumental caves. Ellora was built by Rashtrakuta rulers. Ellora caves are outstanding epitome of Indian rock cut architecture. They are finest example of architectural and cultural richness. Ellora caves boast Buddhist, Hindu and Jain temples & monasteries made cut out of rocks by hand. They all were built during 5th to 10th century. There are 12 Buddhist caves (cave 1 to 12), 17 Hindu caves (cave 13 to 29) and 5 Jain caves (cave 30 to 34). By Rail : Aurangabad Railway is well-connected by rail directly with major cities like Mumbai and Pune. Jalgaon Railway Station is on the central railway like – 59 km away from Ajanta.
