Akshardham Temple is a magnificent Hindu Temple Complex in Delhi, the capital of India. Architecturally beautiful this terrific temple is the largest Hindu temple complex in the world. The temple exhibits the centuries of traditional Indian & Hindu culture, spirituality and architectural excellence. The construction of this terrific temple was inspired and moderated by Pramukh Swami Maharaj – the spiritual head of the BAPS Organization. About 3000 volunteers and 7000 artisans of BAPS Organization construct this world famous Hindu Temple Complex.
The Swaminarayan Akshardham Temple Complex attracts a large gathering of tourists from all over the world. It attracts the attention of about 70% of all tourists who visit Delhi. The temple was officially opened for visitors on 6 November 2005. It is situated near the banks of the Yamuna River and very close to the site proposed for 2010 Commonwealth Games Village. The Temples complex boast a massive central monument crafted entirely of stone – masterpiece example of stone work art. The temple complex is built according to the Vastu Shastra and Pancharatra Shastra.
The Temple Complex depicts incidents from the life of Swaminarayan and the rich history of India. The complex also boasts Hall of Values, Theatre, Musical Fountain, Narayan Sarovar, Lotus Shaped Sunken Garden, Bharat Upvan, Statues of Legendary Persons, Large Landscaped Gardens, and Premvati Food Court. Tourists can enjoy boat ride sitting on peacock shaped boat on a lovely manmade lake. IN the evening visitors can enjoy spiritual light & sound show.
