Day 01: Arrival in Chennai
Arrive in Chennai, the capital city of south Indian state Tamil Nadu. Upon arrival at the airport, Indian Luxury Tours representative greets and transfers you to your pre-booked hotel. Freshen up and relax at the hotel. Dinner and overnight will be at the hotel.
Day 02: Chennai – Mahabalipuram – Trichy
After hearty breakfast at the hotel proceed to full day sightseeing tours of Mahabalipuram and Kanchipuram, globally famous for monument & temple attractions. Visit world famous shore temple at Mahabalipuram as well other attractions. Visit the 7 pagoda-style shore temples, lashed by the waves of the sea and the 7 Rathas or temple chariots, a group of colossal monuments & animal statues, sculptures, carved out of solid rock, the earliest known examples of Dravidian architecture. Kanchipuram is famous for silk sarees as well as temple attractions. Visit the local homes of the weavers and watch them creating magic out of silk thread into sarees. Visit temples like Ekambareshwar Temple, Kaliashnath Temple, Kamakshi Temple, etc at Kanchipuram. Later in the evening you will be transferred to Railway Station to board overnight train for Trichy. Dinner will be onboard.
Day 03: Arrival in Trichy
On arrival at Trichy Railway Station, Indian Luxury Tours representative greets and transfers you to the hotel. Freshen up and relax at the hotel. In the evening visit the magnificent “Rock Fort Temple” that rises marvelously to a height of 273 feet. A steep staircase cut into rock leads up to the Fort Complex. Explore the attractions of the fort complex. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the hotel.
Day 04: Trichy – Madurai
After hearty breakfast at the hotel proceed to temple city of Madurai. Madurai is the second largest city of Tamil Nadu after Chennai. It is also called the “Cultural Capital of Tamil Nadu”. It is globally famous for Meenakshi Temple. Upon arrival in Madurai, Indian Luxury Tours representative transfers you to your pre-booked hotel. Freshen up and relax at the hotel. Later proceed to visit famous Meenakshi Temple, one of the biggest temple complexes in India.
This architecturally beautiful temple complex is dedicated to goddess Meenakshi (the incarnation of goddess Parvati – the consort of Lord Shiva). It is the greatest land mark of Madurai City. The temple complex also includes a bazaar that bustles from sunrise to nightfall. The high point of the Meenakshi temple is the “Hall of Thousand Pillars", built in the 16th century which is as great a work of structural engineering as it is of art. Also visit the Tirumalai Nayak Palace, an excellent example of architectural excellence – blend of Hindu and Saracen architecture. At 9 PM attend the night ceremony at the Meenakshi Temple. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the hotel.
Day 05: Madurai – Periyar
After hearty breakfast at the hotel, proceed to Periyar in Kerala. Periyar is a famous destination for wildlife activities. On arrival in Periyar, Indian Luxury Tours representative greets and transfers you to the hotel. Freshen up and relax at the hotel. Spend rest of the at leisure. Dinner and overnight will be at the hotel.
Day 06: Periyar
In the early morning enjoy boat ride on the Periyar Lake in the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. Periyar National Park also known Thekkady National Park is one of the most important wildlife destinations in South India. The Park is rich in its flora and fauna. Enjoy wildlife expedition in the park. Watch the wildlife attractions of the sanctuary. Watch activities of elephants, deer, black buck, tiger, leopard, gaur, horse deer, barking deer, mouse deer, dholes, mongoose, foxes, langurs, etc. Various species of reptiles also can be in the park. There are 30 species of Snake, two species of turtle and 13 species of lizards including monitor lizards inside the park. Afternoon explore village around Periyar to see spice gardens. See how different spices are grown. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the hotel.
Day 07: Periyar – Cochin
After hearty breakfast at the hotel, drive to Cochin, the commercial capital of Kerala. Upon arrival in Cochin (new name is Kochi); Indian Luxury Tours representative transfers you to your pre-booked hotel. Freshen up and relax at the hotel. Afternoon embark on sightseeing tour of Cochin. Visit the famous Mattancherry Dutch Palace. See the beautiful murals painted on the wooden walls inside the Dutch Palace complex. Visit the 16th century Jewish Synagogue. Visit the Church of St Francis. Walk around the Fort Kochi area to see the beautiful colonial homes. Also visit the globally famous Chinese Fishing Nets. Day 08: Cochin – Ooty
Have a very hearty breakfast at the hotel and then drive to Ooty, a picturesque hill station in Tamil Nadu. On arrival in hill town of Ooty, Indian Luxury Tours representative transfers you to your pre-booked hotel. Freshen up and relax at the hotel. Spend rest of the day at your independent or leisure activities. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the hotel.
Day 09: Ooty
Have a very hearty breakfast at the hotel. Embark on full day sightseeing tours of postcard-perfect hill town of Ooty. Ooty is one of the most popular hill stations in South India. It is fondly described as the “Queen of South Hills”. Nature has blessed Ooty with superb nature beauty. Day 10: Ooty – Bandipur
Have a very hearty breakfast at the hotel and then proceed to Bandipur famous for Bandipur National Park. It is situated in the state of Karnataka. In the afternoon enjoy game drive to the Bandipur National Park. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the resort.
Day 11: Bandipur National Park
Take your breakfast at the resort. Then enjoy wildlife expedition inside the forest of Bandipur National Park. The park is rich in its flora and fauna.
